There is less than 48 hours before gardai withdraw their labour for the first time in the history of the State.
GARDA COMMISSIONER NÓIRÍN O’Sullivan issued a directive yesterday, ordering all members of the force to report for duty on Friday, the first day of the planned strike by rank-and-file gardaí.
The AGSI and GRA, which represent the vast majority of the force, are currently locked in last-minute talks with the government in a bid to stave off the unprecedented industrial action.
The two organisations have both rejected new deals in recent days.
